Nuorisokuoro Kuhankeittäjät on perustettu vuonna 1977. Se sai alkunsa Kuhalan koulun musiikinopettajan Tuija Koskelon johtamasta koulukuorosta. Koskelot luopuivat kuoron johdosta 1984, jonka jälkeen sitä johtivat lyhyen aikaa Juha Lehmus ja Hannu Vuorela. Vuonna 1986 kuoroa johti Risto Pelli. Tibor Bogànyi otti kuoron johtoonsa 1987, jolloin kuoroharrastus Forssassa lähti uuteen nousuun.
Nykyinen kuoronjohtaja Natalia Maltizova tarttui kuoron ohjaksiin vuonna 1995. Hänen johdollaan kuoroharrastus jatkuu erittäin aktiivisena edelleenkin. Tällä hetkellä Kuhankeittäjissä laulaa yli 80 laulajaa.
Vuonna 2002 Kuhankeittäjät juhlivat 25-vuotista toimintaansa muun muassa kahdella konsertilla. Toinen konserteista, "Äiti maa", toteutettiin yhdessä Bianca Morales'n kanssa. Juhlavuoden kunniaksi kuoro julkaisi myös oman lehden.

History of CHOIR KUHANKEITTÄJÄT

Finnish Children´s and Youth Choir Kuhankeittäjät was founded in 1977 in Forssa.
The choir was first an ordinary school choir led by music teacher Tuija Koskelo.
Natalia Maltizova from Estonia has been the artistic director of the choir since 1995.
The repertoire of the choir is very large from Vivaldi`s Gloria, Ave Maria to Beatles`s music. The choir is used to performing both classical concert music as well as Finnish music with a colourful touch. Activities of the choir include the traditional Father´s Day and Mother´s Day concerts. During the past few years the choir has performed with other choirs of Forssa and also participated in many choir festivals. Kuhankeittäjät has had a variety of international activities and it has given concerts abroad: Russia, Estonia, Japan, Austria and Hungary. The choir is celebrating its 30 years of activity in 2007.
