History of CHOIR KUHANKEITTÄJÄT

Children´s and Youth Choir Kuhankeittäjät was founded in 1977 in Forssa.
The choir was first an ordinary school choir led by music teacher Tuija Koskelo.
Natalia Maltizova from Estonia has been the artistic director of the choir since
1995.
The repertoire of the choir is very large from Vivaldi`s Gloria, Ave Maria to
Beatles`s music. The choir is used to performing both classical concert
music as well as Finnish music with a colourful touch. Activities of the choir
include the traditional Father´s Day and Mother´s Day concerts. During the past
few years the choir has performed with other choirs of Forssa and also participated
in many choir festivals. Kuhankeittäjät has had a variety of international activities
and it has given concerts abroad: Russia, Estonia, Japan, Austria and
Hungary. The
choir is celebrating its 30 years of activity in 2007.
